Virtus.pro Takes ASUS Cup Summer

RUSSIA -- Virtus.pro takes ASUS Cup Summer.

Virtus.pro, who is widely seen as the best Russian team and one of the top three in Eastern Europe, take another tournament under their belt, winning the ASUS Cup Summer event in impressive fashion.

They breezed through the first two rounds of competition, winning their first match 16–6 against countrymen Sparta and then won their second match against vaprs 16–3.

In the semi-finals they met one of the other top three teams at the event, playing the Kazakh team K23 and defeated them in overtime 22–18.

The other side of the bracket saw many surprises, with DTS losing first round to A-gaming 16–10 and Pobeda making it to finals over A-gaming (16-9) and forze (16–14).

In the upper bracket finals, Virtus.pro stomped pobeda 16–4.

In the lower bracket, DTS got eliminated in the third round after falling to fellow Ukrainians kerchnet, 16–8.

kerchnet beat the dark horse pobeda 16–7, setting up a rematch against virtus.pro in the finals. However, the momentum would not transfer over, as virtus.pro plowed straight through them winning two games in a row in the grand finals.
