ESEA Regular Season Ends Tonight

ESEA – As the season comes to an end tonight there is still question on who will take that fourth spot.

Last night some teams played their way in, some others played their way out.

The first match of the night was Team Dynamic against Eximius Sports. This match decided both team’s fate as Eximius received a forfeit win from MDLLAG.

Unfortunately for Eximius, Team Dynamic seemed to be just too much for them to handle as they walked away victorious from this fragfest of a thriller 16-14.

In the first half, Team Dynamic won 9-6 on the terrorist side. Then, in the second half, things started to heat up as Eximius was able to grab eight rounds on their terrorist side, but was unable to force overtime as Dynamic grabbed the seventh round to stop any comeback from Eximius.

NoObler and Demonic lead the way for Dynamic with 26 frags each and anger led the way for Eximius with 28 frags. There has been one problem for Eximius all year long and it has been the play of Sasquatch. As a very experienced veteran player who once did it both online and on LAN and once was the go to guy for the Devastation roster, he just isn’t getting it done and clearly is not in old Sasquatch form.

A prime example of this was last night, where he only gained 10 frags the entire night to go along with his 28 deaths.

The second match of night was Keyboard Smashers against Vitriolic NA. Much like the first match this one also came down to the wire, in a 16-14 fashion. Keyboard Smashers who was once at that fourth seed, played themselves out of it last night.

In the first half, Vitriolic went up ahead 11-4 on their CT side and KBS looked all but dead. However, KBS went on a valiant comeback by winning ten rounds, but much like Eximius did, they were unable to grab the tying round to force Overtime. There wasn’t much that KBS could have done to stop the wrath of DaZeD as he paved the way for Vitriolic with 35 frags.

Tonight x3o will be faced with a double header. x3o is sitting pretty at the #2 seed and even if they were lose both matches they would still qualify for playoffs.

Their first match of night is against Eximius Sports. Eximius has nothing to play for as there is no way they could make the playoffs so this is nothing but an exhibition to pat on their stats, granted they even show up to play. This match is a makeup match from last week on de_contra.

The second match of the night is x3o against Team Dynamic. Team Dynamic need to win this match in order to clinch their playoff spot.

Look for this match to be very exciting much like last night’s matches. x3o is currently playing with a full head of steam as they are currently on a six game winning streak as they try to extend that. But Dynamic is also feeling good about pulling off that big match last night against Eximius.

The reason I say that Dynamic needs to win this to clinch their playoff spot is because KBS’s forfeit win of Push Gaming has yet to become official. If KBS receives a forfeit win and Dynamic loses tonight that means both teams would have identical records of 8-8. The head to head series between both teams is also split 1-1. A one game playoff match between the two teams needed maybe? Or would ESEA go off rounds?  Who knows?
