ESEA Season 3 LAN Playoffs in Dallas, TX

DALLAS, TX - ESEA has announced that their Counter Strike 1.6 LAN Playoffs will be held July 25-26 at Lethal Gamers in Dallas, TX.

The top eight teams from the regular season will compete in a double elimination, best of three bracket, as teams compete for their piece of the $12,250 invite division prize pot and the ESEA League trophy. The trophy and payment will be presented to the winners at the LAN.

As always, ESEA has promised free HLTVs, irc scorebots, and box scores and statistics.

ESEA also said that the teams are paying their own way to Dallas, which they agreed upon before the season began.

The other location - New York City, NY, at the Samsung Center - seemed to have been turned down because Lethal Gamers provides a larger space for the entire weekend.  Friday night will feature a skills competition.  Each playoff qualified team will nominate one player to compete in a single elimination AWP, Deagle, and Aim map money match tournament. Teams will also compete in five versus five 1337 sk337 to conclude our Skills Competition.

Craig Levine, owner of ESEA, also said in the forum thread that they are considering Season 4 LAN playoffs for Counter Strike 1.6 and Source, but will determine that after the Season 3 Playoff event.

The full announcement can be found here.

Thats the one thing that bugs me, when budgets are tight, in my opinion we shouldn't be wasting money on going to this type of LAN.
