x3o Wins WCG USA Invitational

NEW YORK, NY - After a shaky group stage, x3o edges out EG for the prize at WCG USA Invitational.

Despite EG's recent LAN appearances in ESWC Asia Masters and the KODE5 Grand Finals as well as their lack of Finnish all-star Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, who was replaced by Travis "tuBBy" Bechtol for this event because he is not American, they made it to the finals for the event.

Gravitas gaming also a roster move. Noah "StrikeR" Alvarado played instead of one of Gravitas Gaming's most important players, Ediz "goodfornothing" Basol.

Unlike their two largest rivals, x3o was fortunate enough to have their starters present for the event.

After group stage – which no team went undefeated in – x3o and EG beat out the newly formed MoB Gaming lineup and Gravitas Gaming.

X3o, who was defeated 20–10 by EG in group stage, managed to pull a 2–0 sweep, defeating EG on de_inferno 16-14 and then embarrassed them on de_train 16–3.

Both EG and x3o will play at WCG USA Finals later this year.

Prize breakdown:

1st. x3o – ($2,500 and an invite to WCG USA Finals)
2nd. EG – ($1,500 and an invite to WCG USA Finals)
3rd. Gravitas, MoB – (Samsung Monitors)
