Stormakt, No-Namers and more in ESEA Open Playoffs Tonight

ESEA - ESEA Open playoffs start tonight with some big matchups.

Tonight we see some couple interesting matches going on between a lot of great teams. We first have seventh-seeded Second Nature going against tenth seed Team Hausen. Second Nature has always been always been a great team in CAL making it into CAL-I before the league’s eventual closure.

Team Hausen however, is a fairly new name in the competitive CSS scene but have been doing fairly well being the tenth seed in the ESEA-O playffs, with only slim losses to Team Pandemic and Keyboard Smashers. One thing for sure is that this match will be a close one as both teams stand at a 6-2 record.

Secondly we have thirteenth-seeded Stormakt vs the fourth-seeded No Namers. No Namers is currently sitting at a 7-1 record with their only loss coming from number one-seeded Keyboard Smashers. However we also have Stormakt with a record of 6-2, with close losses to Team Dynamic and Frag Dominant. The favorite for this match seems to be No Namers being the fourth seed, however Stormakt could rally if they can bring their best to the table tonight.

Next we have Ronin VS. Absolution. Ronin comes into the match being the underdogs with a record of 5-3, while Absolution has a bit more momentum sitting on a 7-1 record. Absolution has their only loss to a fantastic Frag Dominant team, while Ronin has losses to several newcomers in the ESEA league. Absolution seems to have this, but in competitive CSS anything can happen.

In the next game we have the eleventh-seeded k2 against the sixth-seeded Backlash. Both teems enter the match tonight sitting at a 6-2. Backlash should be noted as having the greatest amount of players in any team in the playoffs. However, this could either hurt of help their game tonight as chemistry between teammates is essential in competitive Counter Strike, while k2 seems to have a solid 5 ready to play at all times.

It should also be noted that k2 has only held positive records in Cal-M and CEVO-A, while in the higher divisions such as Cal-I they haven’t been able to hold a positive record. The match will be interesting to watch only if k2 brings their A-game against Backlash as it currently stands.

Lastly we have number one-seeded Keyboard Smashers against sixteenth-seeded Crucial Connexion. Keyboard Smashers sits at a practically perfect record being 7-1 with their only loss coming from k2. Crucial Connexion sits at a 5-3 record losing against teams like Frag Dominant and Absolution.

Keyboard Smashers has been a team of controversy with multiple accusations against their player Glockateer, however no competitive gaming league has banned him or any of his teammates from competing as of yet. If Crucial Connexion doesn’t bring their best tonight than it’ll most likely become a cakewalk for Keyboard Smashers.

The map tonight is de_dust2.
