Gravitas Takes coL in OT

INSIDER ESPORTS - Complexity fans shake their heads in disappointment as Gravitas player, Thomas “thomZ” Garcia clutched up the last round for Gravitas in overtime, thus squashing any hopes of an upset from the complexity camp.

From the get-go Complexity had their work cut out for them when Gravitas took the first pistol round on counter-terrorist side. Complexity was forced to save after a failed inner take on the 3rd round all the way until the fifth round which resulted in a successful win for Complexity. (Score: 4-1 GG)

Mistakes would plague both teams as they played the rest of the first half. Round seven, the complexity squad, oblivious to where Ediz “goodfornothing” Basol was hiding during an Ivy push, let him go unnoticed until it was too late.  Good for nothing grabbed an easy three-kill while hiding in the smoke before dying. The round was not over however. Complexity managed to plant the bomb at B, and then players David “zid” Chin and Shaun “hostile” Catron found themselves in a 1v1 situation. Unfortunately for Complexity, hostile had a read on zid and came up clutch for Gravitas. (Score: 5-2 GG)

Round ten, Gravitas players Ben “Ben” Hui and Derrick “impulsive” Truong lag out, leaving Gravitas in a 3v5 situation. Luckily, CoL was unaware of their temporary weakness and decided to work Ivy like planned.  Goodfornothing and thomZ managed to put a stop to any CoL advances and won Gravitas the round. Complexity would try to work Ivy the following round still with no success. (Score: 9-2 GG)

By round thirteen, Complexity was able to gain some momentum with a spectacular eco win at A. Gravitas’ luck seemed to have ran out, once Complexity was finally able to clutch some rounds. On round fourteen, hostile was caught in a game of peek-a-boo at opposite ends of the bomb-train against two Complexity players that had just planted the bomb. Unfortunately, hostile was taken out and Complexity continued to win ‘till the half was over. (Half Score: 10-5 GG)

In the second half, Gravitas gained pistol round again but after their three-round win streak they could not get much else from the CoL. Gravitas repeatedly worked the same areas in hopes for a break but never found one. One of the few rounds where Gravitas took the tempo down a notch and worked off picks, is when they got their much needed round. Round thirteen and fourteen Gravitas could not successfully take the inner bombsite, although Gravitas these were eco rounds for Gravitas, it was obvious that inner was a tough nut to crack. (Score: 15-14 GG)

Gravitas’ last round to seal the deal was the same story, 3rd verse. Again, an inner attempt by Gravitas and not surprisingly, it was another disaster. (Second Half Score: 15-15 Tied)

OVERTIME

Gravitas grabs the first round yet again which translated into three rounds for Gravitas. On the fourth round, Gravitas’ triple stack accompanied by a few other picks did the trick, forcing Col into a money situation no one wants to be in. The fifth round was taken easily by Gravitas Gaming and thus ended the first half of Overtime. (Score: 20-15 GG)

Complexity finally grabs the first round by taking inner, but unfortunately Gravitas player Thomas “thomZ” Garcia clutches a 2v2 situation with the bomb planted to win the game for Gravitas. (FINAL SCORE: 21-16 GG)

Overall, the match was exciting. It was clear Gravitas had the upper hand many times during the match but you have to give Complexity credit for putting up a great fight. Some notable players of the match were Ben “Ben” Hui from Gravitas and Erik “da bears” Stromberg from Complexity. Ben dropping a “20 bomb” in the first half on ct and Erik hold holding B like a champ. Good game to both teams.
