EG.usa Replaces wNv in the ESL GLobal Finals
The stacked North American squad EG.usa will replace chinese team wNv-teamwork at the ESL Global Finals in Hanover.
Due to an issue with several players' visas, wNv will not be able to attend, passing their spot to the next highest ranked team that was able to travel to CeBIT.
Alexander Garfield, Executive Director of Evil Geniuses, said that the team is "…ready to play, we're grateful for the opportunity, and we plan to make the most of it."
The North American star-studded lineup will join Made in Brazil, x3o, Gravitas Gaming, and WeMade Fox at the Global Finals. Individually no stranger to big events, the players for EG.usa have the potential to a make a top tier finish.
The start of this year brought around a major change to the EG lineup, when four of CompLexity's former players – fRoD, Hanes, Warden and Storm – all moved over to join n0thing to form a new EG.usa team. The Intel Extreme Masters marks the first major event this squad will see since its creation. They did compete at Lethal Gamers for a KODE 5 qualifying event.
"Since the inception of our new lineup, the team has been practicing tirelessly - and as of late, especially, the players have really been looking forward to the year's LAN events.” Garfield says “So this was a pleasant surprise for us, to say the least."
The seven European teams attending have yet to be decided and will be finalized at the Continental Finals Europe. Both tournaments, taking place at CeBIT, will go down between March 3 and March 8th.
