i36 Announces Tournament Format, Map List

INSIDER ESPORTS - I36 announces their tournament format - which includes a very unique group play stage - and the official maps for the event.

The successful i36 event announced their tournament format and maps today.  The top two teams from each group will enter the high skill prize fund tier double elimantion bracket, while the 3rd & 4th placed teams will enter the Intermediate skill double elimination bracket and the 5th and 6th place teams will enter the lower skilled double elimination bracket.

Interestingly, only teams in high skill bracket will be eligible to win their share of the £5,000 prize pot.

i36 also released their offical map list, including:

de_dust2

de_inferno

de_train

de_nuke

de_contra

de_cpl_mill

Many are disappointed with the map selections, especially de_contra and de_cpl_mill.

"I'm not sure why they've added contra once again, its a map many good teams and most amateur teams do not practice, but the main thing that concerns me is the fact they have chosen mill over tuscan and I believe that this is a big error once again by Multiplay and it's quite depressing as i'd say the majority would definatly prefer tuscan. The only reason teams like having maps like contra is so they can get a half decent result against a top team that don't even play the map" Richard "ritch" Gibbs, formally of the London Mint, stated on Cadred.org.

The official rules for the event can be found here.
