Quick Update!

Another Week, Another Update

Alright so I’m going to try to do my best to give a weekly update every Friday (besides this week because I have an exam tomorrow).

Anyways, it’s exam week at my school and I finished writing my Science exam yesterday and got an English exam tomorrow. Looking forward to that because once that’s over with I’m off for a week. Sure I have to go to school next Friday morning for exam review and go to semester 2 courses in the afternoon, but that just means I’m one semester closer to graduating. I’m still going for trying to go to school in the states in the two years and I’ve been doing some research on what courses I need to take for what I want to study. Functions, Calculus, English, Physics, Chemistry and the other courses I can choose, even though I will probably end up taking another English course along with a Business course, a Computer Engineering course and a Computer Science course and get an average that is at least in the mid-80s (3.0 GPA in the US I think or around there) by the end of next year so I can apply. Going to take some hard work, but I think I’ll be able to do it since I’m averaging 83-84 over the last two years.

Along with my schooling, I’ve been focusing more on my music more and more. Art was never a strong point for me, and drama I’m getting better at, but music has been my thing from a young age. I love music and being able to play the piano, drums, saxophone, bass, and guitar with some very bad singing is just part my musical life. Whenever there is a musical out, I’ll go see them. The lyrics artists’ use best describe the way some people feel and I can honestly say that most of the time I click a song on my iTunes it usually describes how I’m feeling.

I realized yesterday that I’m very lucky to have parents who love me and support me with every decision I make. I’m also very lucky to have friends, some closer than others, who are willing to set me straight. The eSports community (more specifically the IE community) who have helped me decide that if I fail to achieve what I want, I can always fall back on writing. Although I may not be the best writer, the encouraging words and criticism definitely helps. It’s definitely something that I can fall back on. You can definitely count on me being around even if I decide to stop playing completely.

On another note, my WordPress blog (http://kaiskorner.wordpress.com/) officially got to 100 hits yesterday. Not bad for something I threw up and thought no one would visit. It’s encouraging to know there are people who are interested in what I write and look at the blog page. This morning I changed the template a bit, added a poll (so go vote!) and did a few minor changes to a few pages. I would love to hear from the readers whether it’s leaving me a message in my voicemail ((817)231-0489), my email (jasonkai7@yahoo.com), over AIM (jasonkai7), leaving a comment on my IE posts, or even IRC, so be sure to leave a message! If you have any suggestions on how I can improve anything let me know and I’ll do my best.

One thing I’ve noticed as famous people get older is they forget where they come from, how they were raised and they change. They act like how Hollywood wants them to be. It is very rare that you find someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves and not care how anyone else feels about them. My point here is just be yourself, don’t let anything, especially fame, whether real fame or internet fame, change you for who you are and don’t be afraid to show people the real you. If they don’t like you for who you are then it is their loss. Don’t change yourself to be the way someone else wants you to be.

With that I leave you with two quotes this week.

“Living in L.A., everyone likes to mold you and change you. I don’t care about fame, I don’t care about being a celebrity. I know that’s part of the job, but I don’t feed into anyone’s idea of who I should be.” (Jessica Alba)

“If you’re a misfit within a group of misfits, does that mean you’re actually popular and normal?” (Laura Preble)
