CEVO-P Lower Bracket Match Overturned

INSIDERESPORTS - CEVO Professional Championship match overturned

Team Cyber Revolution: MoE, clown, Chewbacca, dazed, and frozt.

The CEVO-P finals took place on Sunday January, 12 2009 to decide the grand champion of Counter-Strike: Source. Instead, it turned into a scandalous day. Cyber Revolution defeated Jax Money Crew yesterday 13-5 on the map de_russka to advance in the CEVO-P finals to play Masternooks Warriors of Doom. Cyber Revolution and GOSU share the same vent, so when the finals vs Masternooks Warriors of Doom took place they all hopped in the same channel to see what was going on.

While in the channel, some of the members of GOSU were watching the live broadcast via http://www.tgbf.tv/  for the CEVO-P finals, which was set up wrong according to CEVO rules. The broadcast was supposed to occur through Source TV, but instead the casting was streamed live through the spectator view, and GOSU was giving Cyber Revolution hints and tips to where their opponents were. The match ended with Cyber Revolution winning the best of three. Sources cannot say whether or not Cyber Revolution was being helped for earlier rounds of the playoffs.

An anonymous player who was in the vent recorded their acts of ghosting and told CEVO admin Celone. Celone demanded their ventrilo information to listen to the match, and stayed in their vent for the rest of the matches. At this current state of time, MoE, chewbacca, dazed, frozt, and clown are yet to be banned, because the vent recording which was submitted to an admin did not include what they were saying before the matches.

Cevo has just retracted their statements on the rematches with KBS vs JMC. Jax Money Crew will remain in 3rd place, and Cyber Revolution and Masternook's Warriors of Doom will have the finals rescheduled for a rematch at a later date. Apparently CEVO retracted this because Cyber Revolution never asked for the members of team GOSU to ghost for them, they were doing it simply out of their own free will.

The vent recording can be found at this link http://files.filefront.com/yeprar/;12967061;/fileinfo.html.

Delay anyone? How can you blame the team when the league officials and casters made the mistake? Moe knows if Im watching out over these matches, this does not happen.

It's good to see someone cares about the whole event, but the author is a tad misinformed.

TGBF's coverage wasn't supposed to be through SourceTV, it was supposed to be in spectator. CEVO and TGBF discussed the lack of a delay prior to the playoffs, and decided that no one at this caliber of gaming would attempt to cheat. Obviously, the wrong decision was made.

However, blaming TGBF, or even CEVO soley for the ghosting event is a bit preposterous, don't you think?

You dont have to say the boy who recorded it was anonymous considering a large number of people know who it was :)

It was, they just were supposed to have a delay set up so it transitions with STV.
