North Americup Opens
INSIDER ESPORTS – North Americup opens their doors for CoD fans. The only difference is… CoD2?
The debate concerning the future of the Call of Duty community isn’t over yet! A lot of people have been voting on the www.codfuture.com website in the last days, most of them being European votes. Although the North American community continued with the CoD4 adventure, it seems like the Euros aren’t as enjoyed as we are toward this game and they still want to bring back the WSVG’s CoD title: Call of Duty 2.
Even with the majority of the community agreeing on CoD4 as their esport CoD title, some of the most experienced players in the community still like CoD2 better, where most of them weren’t even interested to test the first Modern Warfare title.
This is where the NorthAmericup has been brought to life by a majority of the Lostprophets (LP) club’s players. I had the opportunity to talk with one of the staff member Tom Hogan (HeroLP) concerning the goals and expectations for the upcoming tournament.
“NACup was an idea founded on the thought that CoD2 deserved to have a chance. It stems from a group of players who wanted to bring about a league where people could come and enjoy themselves while competing with some of the best the game has to offer. Cash prizes were an added bonus.”
Also, Justin Morrison (jmorLP) stated, “We're looking to run an organized and successful tournament from the get go. The staff has a lot of experience as both players and COD community leaders. As long as we get full support through participating teams I assure you we will produce an exciting and reinvigorating experience delving back into Call of Duty 2.”
This new tournament is a Survival of the Fittest (SOTF) tournament which will hopefully bring the aces of CoD2 back to their amazing days like Prank, Credible and more. No prizes were announced yet, but we’ve been told that this was being worked. Free inscription, a good game; what more is needed?
