CAL CoD4 Season 4

CAL - Cyberathlete Amateur League announces their 4th Season of Call of Duty 4, the season will begin on January 11th, 2009.

In a recent news post, CAL has informed its players of some major changes for the upcoming season. These changes include the addition of the DAMN mod, the release of the intermediate division, and the new list of move ups. After some long decision making and the idea of keeping North American rulesets relatively the same, CAL followed CEVO with the addition of DAMN. Kevin Delaney from CAL said, "After a thorough review of all options for competitive mods, CAL has decided that the beginning of this season will mark the shift from Promod to DAMN v0.59 with a custom ruleset, which will be available shortly in the files section. For a full list of the changes this mod is bringing, please see the changelog that is included with the modification itself."

He also stated the reason for dropping the intermediate divison was "largely due to inactivity in the past season". With so many inactive teams CAL wanted to create a competitve and active division thus combining the two. Some teams did benefit from this getting a free pass into the main division. The following teams comprise the division:

Absolut, Animus, Assault to Live, Conspiracy Gaming, Dogg Pound Gangstas, Doubletake, eMazing Gaming, Empath Gaming, Epicfailz, Exigence, Exultance, flawless, Gryffindor, Imposters, Insanity Inc.bL, iUSP, Jesus & Pals, Legacy, Legion, MadCast, MainGear, Ninja Strike Force, Pantheon, ph3nom, REBELS REBORN, Rise to Perfection, ScarySquids, Tactical Initiative, Team FMJ, The Final Stand, United Gamers, and Zen Mechanics.

Although I'm not a fan of Mav, this seems like the right move. Granted I haven't played CoD4 since the Xfire tournament, I've heard good things about the mod and it seems to be a step in the right direction.

The Main teams aren't very satisfying to me lmao. There are better teams in Open that should be in that position. Whatever, it is what it is. Goodluck everyone.
