ESL Announces Regular Season Plans for IEM America
NEW YORK, NY – The Electronic Sports League’s Intel Extreme Masters qualification plan for America has been announced today, with a series of online tournaments leading to a online season and finally a LAN finals in New York City.
The process begins with eight 16-team single elimination brackets, which are the qualification processes for the 16 team season, which will begin within two weeks from now on July 12th and end August 30th.
The regular season will features the top 15 teams which have qualified for the season and then the current American champion, Team EG, will join the 15 teams and have a 16 team season, which will begin on September 4th and end the next day on the 5th.
The Brackets will be played on LAN in New York City October 8th 2010 to the 10th in New York City.
October 8-10th is also the New York Anime Festival and ComicCon at the Javits Center, likely the place of the finals for the ESL.
