IEM Confirms a Season Five

Intel Extreme Masters fifth season has been announced with the details of the first event revealed.

The Intel Extreme Masters, the premier PC circuit in the world, has announced their fifth season and the first event, which will be held in Shanghai, China from July 29th to August 1st 2010.

The first event will features the mainstay of the IEM circuit, Counter-Strike 1.6, as well as two giant Chinese eSport titles in Defense of the Ancients and Warcraft III, which was dropped from the circuit two years ago.

A massive $57,000 has been the announced prize pot for the event; $12,000 for DoTA,  $5,000 for Warcraft III and the lionshare of the prize pot, $40,000 in cash, for the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament in hopes of appealing the bests in the world to come out to compete.
