StarCraft 2 Release Date Announced
STARCRAFT2.COM -- Blizzard Entertainment, owners of some of eSports' largest titles, have announced that StarCraft 2 will be available starting July 27th, 2010.
It has taken them nearly three years since first announcing StarCraft 2 was being created (May 18th, 2010 was the announcement date), for Blizzard to confirm a date, but finally fans can rejoice as a date has been revealed.
StarCraft 2 will be available in stores starting on July 27th, 2010.
The sequel to their 10-million sales game, StarCraft: Brood War, StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty is the first of a new trilogy in the StarCraft world.
The game is in an invite-only beta. However, anyone can gain access by just reserving the game at GameStop. There is no word if they will close the beta at any point prior to the release date, but it is likely it will be at least a week prior.
StarCraft 2 has already seen major eSports events -- the HDH Invitational and MLG's King of the Hill, for instance -- and will likely be a top choice for events worldwide upon its release.
